Marco Verratti Joins PSG

MARCO VERRATTI JOINS PSG

Italian U21 international attacking midfielder Marco Verratti has joined Paris Saint-Germain from Serie A outfit Pescara

The playmaker was born on 5 November 1992 in Pescara, and made his footballing debut in his native city. Technically gifted, Verratti made his first team debut with Pescara at the age of 16! During the 2009-10 he emerged as an integral part of the side and Europe's biggest clubs lined up for the signature of the 'new Pirlo', already with 3 U21 caps to his name.
In the 2011-12 campaign, Marco Verratti played 31 Serie B matches in Italy, leading his side to the second division title and earning his first call up to the Italy U21 side. The Pescara No.10 took his U21 bow against... France on 28 February 2012. He was even called up to Prandelli's pre-Euro squad with the Italy senior side.
Following the signatures of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Thiago Silva, Marco Verratti is Paris Saint-Germain's third recruit this summer, signing a five-year contract. At just 19 years of age, the young playmaker is the third Italian in the squad, joining compatriots Salvatore Sirigu and Thiago Motta.

The midfielder is thrilled by the switch and, though does not speak French, is confident that, with Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti in charge of a squad packed with Serie A imports, he will be able to adapt.
"In life, you have to make choices and this kind of proposal may never come again, so I could not say no to PSG," he told Sky Italia. "The fact that there are Italians there makes it easier for me in terms of the language.
"Ancelotti is one of the greatest coaches in the world and I am very happy to join this squad and work with him."
He added: "I still have everything to prove, but at 19 or 20 [years of age] it is possible to play for a big club. Look at [Davide] Santon, who has gone to Newcastle and done really well there.
"In the world of football, there is not only Italy."

2012/13 Kit revealed

The inspiration for the new jersey is drawn from the traditional club blue of the original emblem. This authentic design is a tribute to the origins of the Paris Saint-Germain.
The designers have brought a fresh approach to the historic central band, but with a crisp and clean, modern graphic evolution. Two white and red stripes highlight the central band with contrast and elegance.
The shorts and socks reflect the blue of the jersey, to reinforce the modern and elegant harmony of the new Paris Saint-Germain home kit.
This new kit will be worn for the first time during the club's preseason friendly matches in July.
A kit that combines state of the art technology with respect for the environment
The new kit combines innovation and elegance to provide the club with a unique new look. Nike's innovative approach supplies an ultra performing kit while guaranteeing excellent comfort levels for the players.
The kits are made with recycled polyester, making this the most environmentally friendly product ever made by Nike. The new fabrication process uses 30% less energy than traditional polyester. Since 2010, Nike has used approximately 115 million recycled plastic bottles to make its high performance sportswear.
The new kit is made with a material 23% lighter and 20% more resistant than previous models. It also features Nike's Dri–FIT technology to absorb humidity and maintain fresh and dry athletes on the pitch.
The kits also feature T-shaped reinforcements along certain hem lines of both jersey and shorts as well as thermal stitching to add to the sense of comfort. The temperature is regulated via zones of ventilation, under the arms and waist to allow maximum air circulation.
Nike Pro Combat under shirts are used by the athletes as a compliment to the kit to ensure comfort and protection.
Football fans can also own purchase products from the Sportswear PSG collection, inspired by the club's heritage and traditions.

He joined PSG and will be available to Carlo Ancelotti for the next 3 seasons.

Thiago Silva to Paris

On Saturday, 27-year-old Brazil international Thiago Silva signed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain from AC Milan.
Thiago Emiliano da Silva was born on 22 September 1984 in Rio de Janeiro. Growing up, he played for the Fluminense youth teams but never signed a pro contract with the club. A central defender, he then joined RS Futebol, in the Brazilian third division. After an excellent debut season, he signed immediately for Juventude in the first division.
He quickly caught the eye of FC Porto, who signed him in 2004, howver he failed to impose himself and headed off to try his luck with Dinamo Moscow in Russia. It was a second disappointing experience and after an injury-plagued season, Thiago Silva returned home to the club where it all began, Fluminense.
Back in Brazil he played three excellent seasons and won his first trophy (the Brazil Cup 2007), and reached the 2008 final of the Copa Libertadores and earned his first international cap. In 2008 he decided to give Europe another chance and signed for AC Milan. He became a mainstay of the Rossoneri central defence in the 2009-10 campaign and was crowned Italian champion in 2011.
A first-choice central defender with the Selecao and considered one of the best central defenders in the world, Thiago Silva is the second mercato recruit to PSG and completes the club's Brazilian quartet alongside Alex, Maxwell and Nene. He will try and etch his name in the club history along with other illustrious compatriots Valdo, Ricardo, Raï, Leonardo and Ronaldinho...

PSG 2-2 CSKA Moscow

DRAW IN CONCLUSION

After leading 2-0, Paris Saint-Germain conceded the draw at CSKA Moscow.
A meeting that marked the end of the course of ten days in Austria.

After ten days of preparation in Austria, Paris Saint-Germain concluded his first summer internship by a second objection. If Wednesday's game against Stegersbach had quickly turned into a demonstration, with a 9-0 victory in the key, the opponent who stood this Saturday against the Red and Blue was a whole new level. And CSKA Moscow, Russian triple champion and 2005 winner of the UEFA Cup (Europa League ex), did not intend to move tenure to one week of the resumption of their league.

From the outset, Paris pushes. Armand takes his lane and left a deposit on the head of center Hoarau. The recovery of Reunion passes a hair of the frame (the third). Right side, but Lavezzi Chantôme center for the head of the Argentine, who was making his first appearance in the colors red and blue, passes over (14th). The Russians respond via Tosic, whose cannon ball is pushed by Douchez fists. On resumption, Doumbia is inconsistent (22nd). Lavezzi perforates the Russian defense but saw his shot land in extremis (26th) before Bisevac comes back in a panic before Doumbia (27th). Goalless at the break and little difference between the two teams despite the difference in preparation between the two formations.
The center forward of CSKA Doumbia, very stirring, shoot boxing Douchez which strikes upon the resumption (49th). Then the turn of Akinfeev to highlight. The Russian international goalkeeper comes out firing Pastore (57th) and then sees the attempt to refill (58th) pass over. Moscow goalkeeper also repels minting Gameiro but this time, Luyindula followed to give the advantage to his people (0-1, 59th). Akinfeev diverts strikes Gameiro and Jallet (63rd) and Paris seems untouchable.

This impression was confirmed in stride. Tiéné beyond left and center. At the far post, Gameiro is at the front desk and mark the outside of the foot (0-2, 64th). The highlight of Paris rose. On the surface, which Honda is Dzagoev, point blank, Douchez wrong and gives hope to his teammates (1-2, 68th). On a back pass to unsteady Jallet Douchez, Doumbia, in ambush intercepted the ball and hit a spot out of reach of goalkeeper Paris (2-2, 78th).

The two teams then split on a tie. After ten days of training in Austria, PSG will now return to the camp of the lodges for a few days before taking part in his second training camp in New York and Washington, where he will face Chelsea respectively and DC United before rubbing FC Barcelona at Parc des Princes. Nice program!

Lavezzi to Paris

First signing for PSG! After Javier Pastore a year ago, Ezequiel Lavezzi (27 years), another Argentine international, will therefore evolve under the colors of Paris.

Lavezzi joined Napoli from San Lorenzo in 2007 and scored nine goals in 30 Serie A appearances last season. He has 16 caps for Argentina and three goals.

Here are some clips from Napoli Days....Enjoy

Back to Work For Les Bleus et Rouges

Well, we have the start of the PSG Season with a 10 day Pre-season training at Stegersbach,Austria

Like everyday since pre-season training started, Wednesday was another busy day for the PSG squad. They met up at 9:45 at the Camp des Loges for training. For more than an hour and a half, the squad got a solid physical and tactical work out in the summer sun of Saint Germain en Laye. After lunching together, the team headed to Paris airport to fly to Graz.  After a brief 20-minute delay due to the weather, the PSG players were soon on their way to Austria.

The two-hour flight was the chance to play cards, watch a film, read or simply relax. It wasn't until around 19:00 that the Parisians finally touched down in Austria. A few supporters were waiting for Les Rouge et Bleu at the airport. Photos and autographs were the order of the day before jumping in the coach to the hotel, about 45 minutes from Graz. This first pre-season training camp also offers the first chance to get to know some of the new faces, such as Mike Maignan, Adrien Rabiot, Abdallah Yaisien, Jordan Ikoko, Alvin Arrondel and Younes El Baillal who all travelled with the pro squad.

During the next ten days in Austria, Les Parisiens will have plenty of training sessions as they continue their preparation. They will also play two friendly matches, the first on Wednesday 11 July against Stegersbach and the second on Saturday 14 July against CSKA Moscow.
